A journey only just starting in the scale of what might be, this is a trial of what may be achieved rather than the understanding of outcome. We love Tempranillo, though our views are hovering in the mystical world of hope and anticipation…. there is the critical stage of winemaking that I have no control over as the wine develops in bottle hence the mystical abbreviation in thought. Something is happening, the wine has a richness not seen prior, there is savoury fruit formed around an essence of masculinity, an array of harmony with oak and acids, I believe the wine is doing as Rioja should -simply binding and forming character with time. We are young in this discovering of variety and have understanding to continue, however the direction chosen seems to be a path of beauty, be it a little rough around the edges, possibly the masculine abbreviation being true to form.
